The RCN Foundation is recruiting for a Young Trustee
Currently only 3% of Trustees in the UK are under the age of 30. We need diversity of perspective on our Board of Trustees to help us increase our reach and impact. As few of our current employees and Trustees are under 30 years old, we are looking for an individual between the ages of 18-30 years, with a nursing or midwifery background to join our Board. No previous experience as a Trustee or in a leadership role is required. We are recruiting for potential, and learning in the role is expected. Training and support will be provided.
Why become a Trustee?
This volunteering opportunity will help you learn more about governance and understand how the charity sector works. Being a Trustee will help you to develop your skills on strategic thinking, decision making and leadership and could be beneficial to your career progression.
This is also an excellent opportunity to contribute to supporting and strengthening nursing and midwifery, and shaping the UK’s healthcare landscape.
About us
Established in 2010, the RCN Foundation is a charity and grant-maker that is committed to supporting nursing and midwifery to improve the health and wellbeing of the public. We support the UK’s nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants by: providing advice and funding to members of the nursing and midwifery communities who face hardship; investing in the future of nursing and midwifery through a programme of funding education and career development opportunities; and supporting strategic nursing- and midwifery-led projects that demonstrate innovation, and improve patient care and outcomes.
In 2020 we renewed our strategy which aims to increase our reach across the nursing and midwifery communities and enable the provision of the best possible support and care to patients. As part of the RCN Group, which also includes the Royal College of Nursing and RCNi (publishing company), the RCN Foundation is in a unique position to make a significant and positive difference to nursing and healthcare across the UK.
