The RCN Foundation is proud to launch the first of its kind initiative in adult social care nursing. A combination of chronic underfunding, staffing shortages and an aging population has led to the critical need for a renewed focus on social care in the UK.
The Chair of Adult Social Care Nursing will lead on and facilitate a five-year programme which encompasses nurse-led research, teaching and learning and scholarly activity within the speciality of adult social care nursing across the UK. The aim of the role is to translate research into clinical practice and to provide the building blocks for the next generation of adult social care nurses.
The Chair will be responsible for growing national and international research collaborations with academic institutions, and key stakeholders within the provision of social care.
The Chair will be research active with a role in teaching and learning but should also maintain currency of clinical adult social nursing practice. The Chair will be supported by a post-doctoral research assistant and whilst working closely with the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care in England, the Foundation welcomes applications from host organisations across the United Kingdom.
