Stelios Philanthropic Foundation Says Thank You
The RCN Foundation is working with the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation to thank nursing and midwifery staff in London for their tireless service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers who are living or working in the Greater London area can now apply for a £250 ‘Stelios Says Thank You’ award in recognition of their determined work.
The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, established by the entrepreneur Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, has donated £250,000 to the RCN Foundation in order to provide these funding awards to nursing and midwifery staff working on the frontline who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
Application forms and eligibility information can be found on the RCN Foundation’s website and applications will be considered on a first come first served basis.
Deepa Korea, RCN Foundation Director, says:
“With London being the hardest hit city in the UK, the nursing and midwifery team has displayed unwavering determination throughout the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. We are most grateful to the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation for enabling us to deliver these awards to say thank you to the frontline health care workers who continue to keep London communities safe and well.”
Sir Stelios says:
“These awards are a demonstration of our heartfelt appreciation of and gratitude for the work of frontline nursing and midwifery staff in London during this pandemic. For many it has meant long, stressful hours with little rest or relaxation and lengthy separation from friends, families and loved ones. I trust the money will be put to good use by way of reward when happier times return.”
