Autumn round grants open
RCN Foundation launches autumn round of funding opportunities
The RCN Foundation has today opened its autumn round of education and career development grants.
These grants aim to support those involved in nursing and midwifery to develop their careers and improve the care they give to patients. Grants can be used to undertake undergraduate degrees, postgraduate qualifications and professional training. The Foundation is also offering the Kidby Student Grant, for students in the South East of England pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing.
This year, the Foundation is very proud to commemorate the 2020 International Year of the Nurse and Midwife by offering enhanced grants under its Monica Baly History of Nursing Scholarship. Under the scholarship, applicants will be able to apply for projects that focus either on the history of nursing, or the history of midwifery.
The RCN Foundation is an independent charity, and nursing and midwifery staff do not have to be an RCN member to receive their support. The education grants are for up to £5,000 and open to nurses, nursing associates, midwives and health care support workers who will begin their study between January 2021 and January 2022.
Deepa Korea, RCN Foundation Director said:
“The Foundation is proud to continue offering grants and awards to nurses, midwives and health care support workers to develop their careers and improve the care they give to their patients.
As a charity dedicated to supporting and strengthening the nursing team, we are also pleased to be offering a grant to celebrate the 2020 International Year of the Nurse and Midwife. Whether you are a nurse, midwife, health care support worker, or nursing student, I strongly encourage you to take the time to see what we have available and apply for an RCN Foundation grant.
We know that these are extraordinary and challenging times for the profession, wherever they may work. We therefore remain more committed than ever to fulfilling our purpose of supporting and strengthening nursing now and in the years to ahead.”
