A new education fund of £300,000 is now available to nurses, midwives and health care support workers in the NHS. Successful applicants will receive up to £1600 towards further qualifications.
The Deliveroo-RCN Foundation NHS Education Fund is open for grant applications as of 7 March 2022, and it will remain open until 19 April 2022. An estimated 200 beneficiaries will be able to receive grants for further training and education in their field.
The Fund has been made possible by a donation from Deliveroo, raised by its customers and partners as part of their Supporting the NHS and vulnerable groups campaign.
Individuals from low-income backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those who are early in their nursing and midwifery careers.
The fund is open to applicants from across the UK. You do not need to be a member of the RCN to apply.
Up to £1600 is available to each successful applicant. Grants awarded will cover the cost of a wide range of educational courses, including:
-
Postgraduate modules, for example Clinical Assessment Skills
-
Clinically-focused courses, for example Acute Care; Critical Care; Pain Management
-
Shorter training courses, for example taking an ECG; Phlebotomy; Venepuncture and Cannulation Advanced Life Support course.
