The newly established RCN Foundation LV= Education Grant fund is open to all health care support workers employed in the UK.
So if you are a health care support worker, you may be able to get funding that will help you progress in your career. Being under the supervision of a nurse is the key criteria – roles this grant covers include the following:
-
nursing support worker
-
health care assistant
-
care home assistant
-
maternity support worker
-
registered nursing associate
If you are unsure about whether your role is covered by this grant, please email grants@rcnfoundation.org.uk. You do not need to be a member of the RCN to apply for any RCN Foundation funding. However, please note that nursing apprenticeships are not eligible to apply for this grant.
The fund is dedicated to your professional development. Grants awarded will be worth up to £1,600, and will cover the cost of a wide range of educational courses, such as: phlebotomy, wound care, cannulation, taking an ECG, venepuncture, and Advanced Life Support.
To be eligible to apply for the funding, you need to be a health care support worker, and you need to select a course that has a start date between 1 January 2023 and 1 January 2024.
The deadline for applications to the RCN Foundation LV= Education Grant fund is Tuesday 10 January.
Please share this opportunity far and wide. Download our printable PDF flyer for your ward noticeboard or email list.
If you are not eligible for this particular grant, you may meet the criteria for other RCN Foundation funding. Take a look at our Professional Bursary Scheme and our financial hardship grants.
